Twitterviews

What is a twitterview?

A twitterview is an interview conducted live via Twitter. It invites audience members to follow along and provides them with the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session. Each of our twitterviews also includes a graphic transcript which will be available online following the twitterview.

What benefit will I receive from being twitterviewed?

The benefits to being twitterviewed are many! You’ll gain new Twitter followers, find new readers for your books and website, and boost your web presence in general.

How can I purchase a twitterview?

You may purchase a twitterview directly or receive one as part of our touring author package.

How does twitterviewing work?

Remember that old-school game 20 questions? Well, twitterviewing is kind of like that.  Each twitterview consits of—you guessed it—20 questions.

The first 5 are stock; we ask them to everybody.  They are:

  1. Who are you?
  2. What do you write?
  3. Why do you write?
  4. How long have you been writing?
  5. Where can we learn more about you and your writing?

The next 5 questions are specially formulated for the featured twitterviewee.

The 5 after that are randomly selected from the question bank (the twitterviewee chooses 5 numbers between 1 and 100, which correspond to the secret bank items)

The final 5 questions come from members of the twitterview audience.

Are there any twitterviewing rules?

  1. Join the fun by entering the search term “#emlyn” on Twitter.
  2. Make sure to include #emlyn with all of your twitterview tweets
  3. Limit your questions and your answers to one tweet only
  4. Audience members should save their questions until the end
  5. We will grant you full access to the complete graphic transcript for use on your personal website or in printed marketing materials

How do you promote your twitterview series?

Before the twitterview:  On the day in which a twitterview is scheduled to take place, the Novel Publicity team will set up automated reminders using Social Oomph.  We will send out reminders every 1 hour the morning leading up to the twitterview.  We will also schedule 30-minute, 15-minute, and 5-minute reminders.

After the twitterview:  Once the twitterview has been completed, we will publish the transcript to novelpublicity.com using the graphic template (to see what that looks like, check out past twitterviews). Links to the transcripts will also be shared via our Twitter network and in our weekly newsletter.
